Plugz will offer simple, dependable, comfortable and functional pedal assisted commuter bicycles. The 250W electric motor applies power automatically based on the torque applied to the pedals by the rider or through throttle control at the rider’s option. The bikes weigh slightly more than a standard bicycle, at about 50 Lbs and can be loaded on a bus or the ferry. The Li-Ion batteries provide a range of about 30-35 miles without pedal assist and 35-50 miles with pedal assist.
The first rental and sales store in the city will open February 2010. Nonetheless, you can get a first-look at this amazing bike (where, you ask) at the 2009 SF Bike Expo.
