Shine Rider’s Company was created in the summer of 2010 in Aptos, CA by Lindsay Beth Currier with the intent of bringing awareness to the talented and dedicated female riders of the area. Shine brings positivity, stoke, and inspiration to those pursuing a career or life in gravity driven bike sports. Additionally Shine strives to produce sustainable, green products.

This year, Shine will be hosting the XX Dirt Duel, a dirt jump contest just for the ladies! Pro gals that will be competing include: Kat Sweet, Lisa Myklak, and hopefully the great “wonder woman” Tammy Donahugh. If you would like to compete or know of any ladies that should be invited to throw down, please email:

“The Way Bobby Sees It” Film at Rickshaw Bagworks
    Sunday, October 30, 2011 @ 10:33 pm
    Posted by Karina

The Way Bobby Sees It is a gripping documentary about Bobby McMullen, a competitive mountain biker on a mission to race the most demanding downhill course in the country. Adding to the difficulty: Bobby is blind.

With the help of a guide and a rigorous training schedule, Bobby is determined to race his bike down a course riddled with obstacles and flanked by steep, life-threatening cliffs. But, the racecourse isn’t the only challenge in Bobby’s life. Between thrills, spills and jaw dropping helmet camera footage, we see how Bobby uses humor, determination, and unshakeable optimism to battle adversity – both on and off the bike.

Join us down at Rickshaw Bagworks to watch the film and kick off the expo!

Pure Fix joins the SF Bike Expo!
    Thursday, October 27, 2011 @ 8:13 pm
    Posted by Karina

Four best friends since Kindergarten, we’ve always had a love and passion for cycling. We’ve also always wondered why bicycles cost so much. During our senior year of college, we decided to solve this problem by creating our own brand, which we named Pure Fix Cycles.

The company’s mission is to increase bicycle riders on the road and to make the world a better place, by cutting out the middleman and providing affordable bikes ($325) that anyone can be proud of. Our goal is not just to create another bicycle company, but to help shape and complement an active urban lifestyle.

Each bike is unique in that it acts as a reflection of the rider’s personality. Riders can choose from different limited-edition bicycles with unique color combinations, and can further customize them to make each bike one of a kind. We also sell bike wheels, grips, footstraps, and Pure Fix branded t-shirts. Our focus on individual riders has allowed us to sell thousands of bikes by solely advertising through our website and social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, You Tube and our blog.

    freedom rim

Freedom is dedicated to delivering well-designed, competitively-priced bicycle components that make cycling safer, easier and more comfortable. Freedom, along with its advocacy partners, has helped to initiate over $712 million in the United States towards the realization of a safer, non-motorized infrastructure.

From entry-level to high-end, the entire line of Freedom components focuses on a mode-share shift from cars to bicycles with comfort, performance and affordability in mind. Freedom utilizes top industry manufacturers and its products are competitive in both price and weight. Each of Freedom’s seven models of rims and three wheelsets is foremost designed to be durable, overcoming one of the biggest concerns in the world of road, ATB, city, trekking, comfort and hybrid bicycles. Freedom’s wide range of saddles combines the latest innovations in anatomical design with a broad color palette making the line comfortable and appealing to virtually any cyclist. The tire line consists of four models available in a variety of sizes all with intention of making cycling as enjoyable and safe as possible.

Freedom does not expect the whole world to collectively drop its car keys and switch to cycling. It merely hopes to encourage potential bike riders through well-designed, enticing components at a welcoming price.  Freedom can be found through the WTB channels of distribution.
