    X-Fusion Announces the Signing of Aaron Chase
    Wednesday, December 23, 2009 @ 1:21 pm
    Posted by SFBikeExpo

    For 2010 we are pleased to announce that we have brought aboard one of the most talented all around riders in the bike industry with Aaron Chase. One of the greatest qualities that Aaron has is that he completely kills it on a bike no matter what he is doing. He has raced at the elite level in DH, Slalom and 4x and has stood at the top of many freestyle event podiums. Aaron also has produced multiple films throughout his very successful bicycling career and now launches web edits that document his progressive riding along with his life.

    At X-Fusion we see Aaron as a valuable asset for development and growth of our company’s products. He has a strong technical understanding for the products he uses and what he requires from them. His feedback and influence will go straight into the development of X-Fusion’s future suspension. Aaron’s ability to produce media and promote himself as a rider is also key to the success we will have together. X-Fusion has always been a supporter of video media and adding Aaron’s web edits and GoPro videos to the content we co promote will help us reach a more diverse demographic.

    X-Fusion’s Brand Director John Hauer had this to say, “We saw the opportunity to sign Aaron and we could not let it slip away. He has always been somebody that I have looked up to throughout my time in the bike industry and I’m glad that things have come together. After Aaron’s recent trip to California and the short time he was at the X-Fusion headquarters, it is apparent that forming this rider-sponsor relationship was a great decision for both parties. I look forward to working with Aaron over the next year and hopefully into the future.”

    Aaron Added, “Partnering with X-fusion is a perfect match for me, these guys really listen to their riders and as soon as I put the Vengeance fork on my bike I knew it was going to be sick. I have always heard great things about them, but it wasn’t until I rode the fork that I was a believer. I am looking forward to a long partnership with a rider driven company like X-Fusion.”

    In 2010 Aaron will be riding the new revamped O2 and Vector series rear shocks on all his full suspension bikes. The front of his rides will be spec’d with forks from the new Vengeance, Velvet and Velour lines. Check out all the products at X-Fusion

    Posted by SFBikeExpo

    198 cyclists presented themselves at the Bow & Arrow on December 5 to race around the city collecting food donations for the San Francisco Food Bank. Out of 198 registered racers, 152 completed the full requirements of the manifest. While we didn’t collect specific data on gender, it appears that we had approximately 44 female participants; an estimated 27 ladies raced in the speed category, and 17 in the cargo category.

    Here’s a recap of some of our top performers. Read {ON}

    Pinkbike.com: Andrew Taylor – Bike Check
    Tuesday, December 8, 2009 @ 11:09 am
    Posted by SFBikeExpo

    If you didn’t know who AT was, he is Andrew Taylor, a Pro Rider for Adidas & Marin and a local Bay Area native. He just hosted AT’s Showdown, held at the Cow Palace in San Fransisco a few weekends ago. Big thanks goes out to Andrew for putting on the event. It was a huge success and showed where Mountain Bike freestyle contests are headed in 2010! The Showdown had many premier riders and some of the biggest jumps ever built for bicycles. I met up with AT for a few minutes to grab some shots of his bike and talk about his plans for 2010. Read {more}

    Velo Wonderland – Tonight!
    Friday, December 4, 2009 @ 11:38 am
    Posted by SFBikeExpo

    The preparations are nearly complete for EBBC’s holiday fete, Velo Wonderland, and we’re excited to celebrate the year’s successes with you. With snacks from Spice Monkey, beer from Linden Street Brewery, and DJ Olga T spinning music, we know it’s going to be a great party. But you don’t have to take our word for it…check out the East Bay Express’ write up of Velo Wonderland.

    Here’s a taste of the local art you’ll be able to feast your eyes on: Jill Contretas will show us just how artistic you can get with used inner tubes; Nan Estep’s (aka B. Spoke Tailor) custom-made bike apparel will be on display; and Velo Wonderland Curator, Margo Rivera Weiss, will exhibit her watercolors and work made from bottle caps and soda cans.

    Everyone who comes to Velo Wonderland will be entered ino a free drawing for a one-of-a-kind Tote Bag made of recycled materials filled with goodies such as bike socks, blinky lights, and an EBBC t-shirt.

    And don’t forget that we’ll have a pedi-cab on hand, so you can take a ride in style to nearby Art Murmur galleries. Admission to Velo Wonderland is free, and everyone is welcome – bring a friend who likes bikes!

    Details:
    Friday, Dec. 4th 6-10pm
    Uptown Body & Fender
