AT’s Showdown sponsor X- Fusion Shox makes it back for another year
    Friday, November 9, 2012 @ 9:00 am
    Posted by Long

X-Fusion is focused on a simple concept: build high quality, all metal suspension systems that provide a higher level of performance and durability. Take a look at our Velvet forks for example. Inside the Velvet RL you will see a fully-adjustable CNC’ed-machined damping cartridge, lightweight full-air spring system, as well as all aluminum knobs and adjusters. And it’s not just the Velvet forks that get this kind of treatment. From the Vengeance to the O2 shock line to the Hilo dropper post, there is no denying the attention to detail and the focus on quality.

The X-Fusion brand was started in 1999, but the company had been manufacturing suspension products for at least 10 years prior to that. With a 20-year history in suspension, it’s no surprise the level of attention provided to every detail. In the past 5 years, we have greatly expanded our product line, established a global support network and made huge gains in overall market share. Just ask companies like Cannondale, Specialized, Ibis, Jamis, GT and others. These brands rely on X-Fusion to provide the highest levels of performance possible.

Recent changes within X-Fusion include the move of our US R&D office to Santa Cruz, CA. Besides being in the new mecca of mountain biking, the area provides the ultimate testing grounds for new products. The ability for concepts and ideas to hit the trail the same day they are conceived translates into products to you, the consumer, that lead the industry in quality, performance and durability.

Come see AT’s Showdown sponsor Hitcase at the SF Bike Expo
    Wednesday, November 7, 2012 @ 2:00 pm
    Posted by Long

Hitcase™ started as a pretty simple idea. We have iPhones, and so do all of our friends. Our friends are a pretty active bunch and generally like to get themselves into situations which are either wet, dirty or both. Then throw themselves and their bikes, boards or whatever into the air. Not a good place for an iPhone to be. We also like to take pictures and film things when were doing all of the above, but need our hands to keep things under control.
    Enter Hitcase™

Hitcase is the easiest way for you to mount and protect your iPhone in the most challenging conditions. It’s made to be simple for you get your phone in and out of and is designed with a wide angle lens to help you get the best perspective on the action. It’s waterproof. It’s dust proof. It’s ruggedized. It’s mountable. It’s made to take a beating and then take another one, and then take a call from your grandma. “Yo Grandma!”

We love our iPhones. They have pictures of our dogs, girlfriends, wives, kids, moms, dads and the other people and places we want to remember. We also want to have videos of that amazing sea turtle and the beach in Oahu, or from the A-line at Whistler bike park, or snow-boarding at Mt. Hood. With Hitcase™, you will never miss another minute of gnarly cranking down the mountain or fire side at your fav campsite in the backcountry, or roasting down the hill on skis. You won’t miss it because you’ve got a Hitcase.
    Hitcase. Hit it.™

On this page, we have some pictures showing you some of our adventures while we were designing and testing Hitcase. It’s a lot of work building a product like this, and more than a few sleepless nights trying to figure things out but it’s been more than worth it. We’ve learned a ton, been to some new places and met some amazing new people. We are looking forward to a lot more of all that…

    Thanks a bunch,
    The Hitcase Team

P.S. If you ever want to drop us a line, we would love to hear from you. You can reach us from our contact page.

    Mike’s Bikes sponsoring the SFBE
    Thursday, November 1, 2012 @ 12:00 pm
    Posted by Long

Mike’s Bikes was founded in 1964 as one of Marin County’s very first Schwinn shops. It is rumored that our store in San Rafael was home to some of the first mountain bikes in the country. Cycling has changed dramatically as the decades have rolled by, but Mike’s Bikes has never wavered from our total dedication to the sport.

Today, Mike’s Bikes is a growing family of local bike shops, all with a singular purpose – to get as many people on bikes as possible. We locally own and operate eleven wildly successful stores in Petaluma, San Rafael, Sausalito, San Francisco, Berkeley, Palo Alto, Los Gatos, Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and our newest stores in San Jose and Pleasanton! Our professional staff of over 200 cycling enthusiasts will ensure that your experiences both in the store and on your bike are the best they can be.

Why shop with us? Because we know bikes and we care. We don’t sell snowboards, we don’t sell kayaks and we don’t sell tents. We only sell bikes – you might even say bikes are our life. Why does that matter? Because this utter fanaticism for our product makes us the best at what we do – We live to create cyclists.
